5 3 Unit instlltion 3.2 Opening nd closing the unit To open the indoor unit 2 Overview Open Front pnel 2 Switch box cover 3 Switch box 4 User interfce pnel 1 Remove the front pnel. 4 If you hve to do work behind the user interfce pnel or uplod new softwre into the user interfce, open the user interfce pnel Optionl: Remove the user interfce pnel. 2 If you hve to connect electricl wiring, remove the switch box cover. If you remove the user interfce pnel, lso disconnect the cbles from the bck of the user interfce pnel to prevent dmge To close the indoor unit 3 If you hve to do work behind the switch box, open the switch box. 1 Reinstll the user interfce pnel. 2 Reinstll the switch box cover nd close the switch box. 3 Reinstll the front pnel. When closing the indoor unit cover, mke sure tht the tightening torque does NOT exceed 4.1 N m. 5

6 4 Piping instlltion 3.3 Mounting the indoor unit To instll the indoor unit 1 Fix the wll brcket (ccessory) to the wll (level) with 2 Ø8 mm bolts. 4 Optionl: If you wnt to fix the unit to the wll from inside the unit: Remove the upper front pnel, nd open the switch box. See "3.2.1 To open the indoor unit" [45]. Fix the unit to the wll with n Ø8 mm screw. 2 2 Lift the unit. Optionl: If you wnt to fix the unit to the wll from inside the unit, provide n dditionl screw plug. 42 kg To connect the drin hose to the drin Wter coming from the pressure relief vlve is collected in the drin pn. You must connect the drin pn to n pproprite drin ccording to the pplicble legisltion. 1 onnect drin tube (field supply) to the drin pn connector s follows: 3 ttch the unit to the wll brcket: Tilt the top of the unit ginst the wll t the position of the wll brcket. Slide the brcket on the bck of the unit over the wll brcket. Mke sure the unit is fixed properly. Drin pn connector It is recommended to use tundish to collect the wter. 4 Piping instlltion 4.1 Prepring wter piping In cse of plstic pipes, mke sure they re fully oxygen diffusion tight ccording to DIN The diffusion of oxygen into the piping cn led to excessive corrosion To check the wter volume nd flow rte Minimum wter volume heck tht the totl wter volume in the instlltion is minimum 20 litres, the internl wter volume of the outdoor unit NOT included. 6

7 4 Piping instlltion When circultion in ech spce heting/cooling loop is controlled by remotely controlled vlves, it is importnt tht the minimum wter volume is gurnteed, even if ll of the vlves re closed. Minimum flow rte heck tht the minimum flow rte in the instlltion is gurnteed in ll conditions. This minimum flow rte is required during defrost/ bckup heter opertion. For this purpose, use the overpressure bypss vlve delivered with the unit, nd respect the minimum wter volume. To gurntee proper opertion it is recommended to hve minimum flow of 28 l/min during DHW. If glycol ws dded to the wter circuit, nd the temperture of the wter circuit is low, the flow rte will NOT be displyed on the user interfce. In this cse, the minimum flow rte cn be checked by wy of the pump test (check tht the user interfce does NOT disply error 7H). When circultion in ech or certin spce heting loops is controlled by remotely controlled vlves, it is importnt tht the minimum flow rte is gurnteed, even if ll vlves re closed. In cse the minimum flow rte cnnot be reched, flow error 7H will be generted (no heting or opertion). See the instller reference guide for more informtion. Minimum required flow rte 25 l/min See the recommended procedure s described in "7.2 hecklist during commissioning" [427] Third-prty tnk requirements In cse of third-prty tnk, the tnk shll dhere to the following requirements: The het exchnger coil of the tnk is 1.05 m². The tnk thermistor must be locted bove the het exchnger coil. The booster heter must be locted bove the het exchnger coil. Performnce. Performnce dt for third-prty tnks NNOT be provided, nd performnce NNOT be gurnteed. onfigurtion. onfigurtion of third-prty tnk depends on the size of the het exchnger coil of the tnk. For more informtion, see the instller reference guide. 4.2 onnecting wter piping To connect the wter piping Do NOT use excessive force when connecting the field piping nd mke sure the piping is ligned properly. Deformtion of the piping cn cuse mlfunctioning of the unit. 1 onnect the O-rings nd shut-off vlves to the indoor unit wter connections. 2 onnect the outdoor unit field piping on the wter IN connection () of the indoor unit. 3 onnect the spce heting/cooling field piping on the spce heting wter OUT connection (b) of the indoor unit. b Wter IN (screw connection, 1") b Spce heting wter OUT (screw connection, 1") Overpressure bypss vlve (delivered s ccessory). We recommend to instll the overpressure bypss vlve in the spce heting wter circuit. Mind the minimum wter volume when choosing the instlltion loction of the overpressure bypss vlve (t the indoor unit, or t the collector). See "4.1.1 To check the wter volume nd flow rte" [46]. Mind the minimum flow rte when djusting the overpressure bypss vlve setting. See "4.1.1 To check the wter volume nd flow rte" [4 6] nd "7.2.1 To check the minimum flow rte" [428]. Instll ir purge vlves t ll locl high points. pressure relief vlve (field supply) with n opening pressure of mximum 10 br (=1 MP) must be instlled on the domestic cold wter inlet connection in ccordnce with the pplicble legisltion To fill the wter circuit To fill the wter circuit, use field supply filling kit. Mke sure you comply with the pplicble legisltion. 7

8 4 Piping instlltion Mke sure both ir purge vlves (one on the mgnetic filter nd one on the bckup heter) re open. ll utomtic ir purge vlves must remin open fter commissioning To protect the wter circuit ginst freezing bout freeze protection Frost cn dmge the system. To prevent the hydrulic components from freezing, the softwre is equipped with specil frost protection functions such s wter pipe freeze prevention nd drin prevention (see the instller reference guide) tht include the ctivtion of pump in cse of low tempertures. However, in cse of power filure, these functions cnnot gurntee protection. Do one of the following to protect the wter circuit ginst freezing: dd glycol to the wter. Glycol lowers the freezing point of the wter. Instll freeze protection vlves. Freeze protection vlves drin the wter from the system before it cn freeze. If you dd glycol to the wter, do NOT instll freeze protection vlves. Possible consequence: Glycol leking out of the freeze protection vlves. Freeze protection by glycol bout freeze protection by glycol dding glycol to the wter lowers the freezing point of wter. WRNING Ethylene glycol is toxic. WRNING Due to the presence of glycol, corrosion of the system is possible. Uninhibited glycol will turn cidic under the influence of oxygen. This process is ccelerted by the presence of copper nd high tempertures. The cidic uninhibited glycol ttcks metl surfces nd forms glvnic corrosion cells tht cuse severe dmge to the system. Mind tht if you only prevent the system from bursting, the liquid inside might still freeze. When wter is t stndstill inside the system, the system is very likely to freeze nd get dmged. Glycol nd the mximum llowed wter volume dding glycol to the wter circuit reduces the mximum llowed wter volume of the system. In ny cse, to prevent unnecessry tripping of the sfety thermostt, we recommend the following: The sfety thermostt is utomticlly resettble.
