Folia faunistica Slovaca, 2009, 14 (15): 101 105 FURTHER NEW FAUNISTIC RECORDS OF MOTH FLIES (INSECTA, DIPTERA, PSYCHODIDAE) FROM THE CZECH REPUBLIC AND SLOVAKIA Jan Ježek Department of Entomology, National Museum, Kunratice 1, CZ 148 00 Praha 4, Czech Republic [jan_jezek@nm.cz] Abstract: New distributional data of the following species are presented from the Czech Republic: Taramormia caspersi (Wagner, 1977); Jungiella (Jungiella) jadarica Krek, 1979; Jungiella ( J.) laetabilis Krek, 1971; Jungiella ( J.) septentrionalis Krek, 1979; Apsycha pusilla (Tonnoir, 1922); Berdeniella illiesi Wagner, 1973; Bohemia: Jungiella (Psychocha) hassiaca Wagner, 1993; Paramormia (Phyllotelmatoscopus) acuta (Krek, 1971); Pericoma (Pericoma) pallida Vaillant, 1978; Moravia: Taramormia pulcherrima (Wagner, 1979); Panimerus albifacies (Tonnoir, 1919); Psychoda crassipennis Tonnoir, 1940; Clytocerus (Boreoclytocerus) longicorniculatus Krek, 1987; Slovakia: Berdeniella gardinii Salamanna et Raggio, 1984; B. vimmeri Ježek, 1997; Clytocerus (Boreoclytocerus) longicorniculatus Krek, 1987; Pericoma (Pericoma) pallida Vaillant, 1978. New additional localities of some interesting species are revealed from the Czech Republic: Berdeniella pyrenaica Vaillant, 1976; Pericoma (Pachypericoma) formosa Nielsen, 1964. Notes on distribution and natural conservation of all quoted species are included. The number of species was increased by this account and four additional papers safely in the Czech Republic to 166 and in Slovakia to 97. Key words: Psychodidae, Psychodinae, faunistics, distribution, new records, Czech Republic, Slovakia. Introduction Altogether almost 500 species of non-biting moth flies are known to occur in Europe and the adjacent island areas (Wagner 2007). The interesting history of the faunistic research of the family Psychodidae in the Czech Republic and Slovakia was presented by all introductions of published several checklists and included numerous literary data (Ježek & Halgoš 1987, Ježek 1997a, 2003 and 2006a). Recently, 172 species are listed in the prepared new version of electronic checklist, and changes are based mainly on this presented paper: 166 in the Czech Republic (139 in Bohemia, 145 in Moravia) and 97 in Slovakia. Since the last electronic version of the checklist (Ježek 2006a), the number of species in the Czech Republic has increased by 18 (12 in Bohemia, 22 in Moravia) and in Slovakia by 8, see as well Ježek & Hájek (2007), Ježek & Omelková (2007), Ježek et al. (2008) and Ježek (2009). The species richness is continually increasing, however, in Slovakia there are fewer species. Material and Methods The study of Psychodidae was supported above all by the Managements of Protected Landscape Areas and National Parks and during the former period was realized as a part of the State plan of research of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. The material was collected by J. Ježek, P. Chvojka, J. Macek, M. Trýzna and Z. Galková (Malaise traps, light trap and sweep netting). The captured moth flies were preserved in 75% ethanol and only selected specimens were mounted on slides (Canadian Balsam) which are deposited in the Department of Entomology of the National Museum (Natural History), Prague, Czech Republic (= NMPC). All specimens were identified by author. The conservation status of individual species follows the red list by Ježek (2005). ily Psychodidae in NMPC (Diptera collection), NM National Monument, NNR National Nature Reserve, NP National Park, NR Nature Reserve, PLA Protected Landscape Area, MT Malaise trap, LT light trap, CR critically endangered species, EN endangered species, NS newly recorded species not assessed in the red list, however, nationally scarce. All localities are complemented by code of grid mapping according Zelený (1972) and Pruner & Míka (1996). Actualized data on distribution of all recorded species and nomenclature were taken from Ježek (2003, 2004, 2006a), Ježek et al. (2008) and Wagner (1990, 2007). Faunistic results Taramormia caspersi (Wagner, 1977) PLA, Nová Lhota env., Hryzlacké Mlýny (7171), 450 m a.s.l., rill, slope meadows with solitary trees, 22.6.2009, 2M, Ježek + Chvojka + Macek leg., MT, slide INS 18228 and 18238; same, Jazevčí NR env. I am especially obliged to Eva Bulánková (Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University, Bratislava) for new ecological and hydrobiological literature, a check on my MS and for some constructive comments. This study was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic (grant MK00002327201). Faunima, Bratislava, 2009 104
