1. from Prague to Ostrava Travel information Ostrava, as a city with more than 330 thousands inhabitants, has a regular flight connection with Prague, usually arranged by the Czech Airlines, which is a member of Skyteam. The Czech Airlines offer a flight directly to Leos Janacek Ostrava-Mosnov airport four times a day. Ostrava lies on the main railroad and therefore another possibility how to get to Ostrava is to take a train. There is a frequent train connection to/from Prague, which usually takes more than four hours and costs about CZK 400-500 (depending on train categories). We suggest to buy a ticket to Ostrava hlavni nadrazi (Ostrava main station), which is much closer to the city center and all accommodation facilities. A fare of CZK 45 is charged on this route. Tickets are available from the driver as well. There are four stops of the bus Terminal North 1 (Terminal Sever 1), Terminal North 2 (Terminal Sever 2), Dejvicka and the last stop Holesovice Station (NH). Please see the following timetable of the departures from both terminals. There are two other stops between both stations. This is the best way how to get to the Prague main station. Subway trains go each five minutes. Please buy 14 CZK ticket.
The company AAA radiotaxi operates taxi services directly in front of arrival halls Terminal North 1 - exit D and Terminal North 2 - exit E, 24-hour to any place in Prague. Starting rate is CZK 40 and each 1 km way in Prague costs 25 CZK. Both stations are approximately 20 kilometres far from the airport. However, be careful because taxi-drivers in Prague have bad reputations with respect to prices. 3. from the Ostrava-airport to the city There is a special bus (number 33) providing a connection from Ostrava Airport to the southern part of the city. Please contact us if you would like to use this bus. For a more comfortable and faster connection you can use a taxi (regular price is from CZK 500 to CZK 800). Credit cards are accepted in taxis. 4. from the Ostrava main station to the hotel Imperial The main railway station is located near the city center so, you can use any of the trams starting at the station (in front of the entrance hall) and you cannot miss the center. To reach the hotel Imperial, get off on the 6th stop named "Elektra" you will need a 15-minute ticket which costs 10 CZK (see the map below as well). Of course, you may use taxi as well. 5. from Ostrava main station to the place of conference, hotels Best and Metropol and student hostel There is direct connection between both places through trolleybuses 101 (17 minutes) or 108 (14 minutes) starting at the station. Please, get off at the stop Dul Petr Bezruc. It is the 9 th stop using the trolleybus 108 or the 10 th stop using the trolleybus 101. Trolley-busses go in approximately 10-20 minutes intervals - you will need a 15- or 45-minute ticket which costs 10 respectively 14 CZK. Of course, you may use taxi as well. 6. from the hotel Imperial to the place of conference There are several ways how to get to the place of conference using public transport. We would recommend to go to the stop Most Milose Sykory (5 minutes walk) and take the trolleybus 101, 106 or 108. Please, get off at the stop Dul Petr Bezruc (4 th stop, 8 minutes) - you will need a 15-minute ticket which costs 10 CZK (see the map below as well). Of course, you may use taxi as well.
