Peter helped me with my homework. (Petr mi pomohl s domácím úkolem.) Záporná věta zápor se tvoří pomocným slovesem didn t (= did not) I didn t play football. (Nehrál jsem fotbal.) tady už nepoužijeme tvar played, protože minulost je vyjádřena pomocným did Peter didn t help me with my homework. (Petr mi nepomohl s domácím úkolem.)
Otázka tvoří se pomocí did Did you play football? (Hrál jsi fotbal?) opět použijeme pouze play (ne played) Did Peter help me with my homework? (Pomohl mi Petr s domácím úkolem?) Krátké odpovědi Did you play football? Yes, I did. No, I didn t. Did Peter help me with my homework? Yes, he did. No, he didn t.
