4 1. INTRODUCTION 1.1 Welcome Dear rally fans, In the name of the Organization Committee I would like to introduce you to the 39 th Rally Bohemia and invite you to its participation. The Rally Bohemia belonging to the eldest and most prestigious automobile competition in the whole Czech Republic is a part of the FIA European Rally Cup Region Central with the highest coefficient 10, the Mediasport International Rally Championship of the Czech Republic. The Rally Bohemia has its traditional centre in the city of cars Mladá Boleslav. It s a domicile of Škoda Auto, which is a long-time and the most important partner of this rally. Without its great help it wouldn t be possible to hold such a prestigious sporty event on such a high level. For this year we have prepared several changes, by which we want to make this event even more attractive. The start and finish will be situated at the newly redeveloped Old Town s Square (Staroměstské náměstí) in Mladá Boleslav. A rich accompanying programme is prepared for Friday s ceremonial start. The headquarters of the rally will be using the premises of the Educational Centre Na Karmeli in Mladá Boleslav again. The service zone is moving back to the Hoškovice Airport for the reason of bigger space premises. All the special stages around Mladá Boleslav, Mnichovo Hradiště, Železný Brod and Jablonec nad Nisou will be driven on Saturday and Sunday. Of course the most popular ones, such as Vinec, Sychrov and Návarov, won t be missing. The traditional parallel super special stage in Global Assistance Autodrom Česká Lípa takes place at the end of Saturday s schedule. We have prepared a new version of the parallel stage including jumps at the most attractive spots of the track. There will be a rich whole day accompanying programme prepared for spectators including several attractions for children. We are working on 198 kilometres of special stages in total. The finish of the rally will be organized under a new concept. At the Old Town s Square will be both the finish of the last special stage and the ceremonial finish of the rally with podium ceremony. Large attention is focused again on the health and safety. As the only one in the Czech Republic and the European Cups we use ONI System also for Recce monitoring. Very detailed Spectator s Guide will be prepared as well as arranged information system, which leads spectators straight to prepared spectators places. Health and Safety leaflets will be issued and given out to spectators. There are even more informational matters planned. We are preparing a very attractive rally for you on very interesting and difficult special stages in picturesque landscape of Central and North Bohemia. 5 1.2 Rally Guide This Rally Guide will guide you through the whole rally. It is designated for the competitors, competing crews, supporting teams, media representatives, officials and guests. All the new information and materials are available for download on our internet pages at The Rally Guide is and informational document not having the character of an obligatory regulation. 1.3 Rally Introduction The 39 th Rally Bohemia is a part of the FIA European Rally Cup Region Central with the highest coefficient 10, the Mediasport International Rally Championship of the Czech Republic and Deutsche Rallye Serie A part of Saturday s programme is the Historic Show. A part of Sunday s programme is the Rally Bohemia Cup Open designed to those cars, which can t take part in the European Cup. It will be available from Thursday 12 th July 2012 at 14:00 till Sunday 15 th July 2012 at 22:00 hours. GPS position is N E Facilities at Service Park There will be the Rally Bohemia Information Centre available should the crews need assistance. Place for tyres supplier is reserved. 8 the Service Zone, including the access to drinking water, toilets and refreshments. The whole area is covered by Wi-Fi signal for internet access. 5.3 Service Park Content See the Rally Guide appendix. Only the cars having the label Service A and Service B will be allowed to enter the Service Park. Other vehicles will be redirected to nearby car park. Trailers will be parked according to Organizer s directions. Any vehicle not having proper labelling will be towed away at the costs of the owner. 5.4 Catering in Service Park Should your team or any other company like to have a catering for guests in the service area, it must be settled with the organiser before starting administrative checking. In other cases the organiser can forbid this catering. Selling food and drinks in the service area without permit is strictly forbidden. 5.5 Deposit for Service Park Place On administrative checking the crew will deposit a surety amounting to CZK / 40 EUR for the settlement of cleaning the place. The amount will be refunded after handing over the clean place to the service car park chief. 6 TWO-WAY RADIO For hand two-way radio aren t any restrictions. 7 FUEL 7.1 Refuelling The competitors can refuel only at the designated refuelling points mentioned in the itinerary. Any other activity inside the refuelling zone not related directly to the refuelling of a particular car is prohibited. The maximum speed of 5 km/h is set for all refuelling zones. It is recommended for the technicians to wear a non-flammable suit. Only the crew is responsible for refuelling. Every trespass will be announced to the sport inspectors. During the whole time of refuelling the engine has to be switched off. It is recommended for the crew not to stay in a car during refuelling. Should the crew remain in the car, the seatbelt have to be unfastened. The car can be pushed out by the crew, functionaries and / or two team members without the penalization. Only in the case of providing help during refuelling two team members of each crew are allowed to step into this zone. 8 RALLY GUIDE

9 The organizers will arrange additional zones dedicated to refuelling only. Any form of service excluding refuelling the car is in these zones prohibited and all other regulations apply in the same way as in other refuelling zones. 8 IMPORT OF VEHICLES AND SPARE PARTS There are no limitations for the transport of racing cars and spare parts into the Czech Republic (valid for EU member countries). Racing car and spare parts transferred into the Czech Republic from non-eu member countries have to be recorded in ATA Carnet. Violation or switching this device off will be penalized. Further information will be given to all competitors in a bulletin. The driver s license will be used as a guarantee and will be subsequently passed on to the administrator of the ONI Monitoring System as guarantee for monitoring issued during scrutineering (Article SR). The fire socket in the car with the voltage of 12 V is necessary to be ready and used for it. 10 RALLY GUIDE

11 13 SCRUTINEERING 13.1 Scrutineering Place: Service Park, Hoškovice Airport Date: 13 th July 2012 Time: 07:30 11: Preparations to be made before the car is brought to scrutineering A car can be placed for scrutineering by the crew representative. The check is split into two individual parts. There will be an exact time specified for each one. First part of it takes place in the Service Zone. Marking of under body, engine block and other components (supercharger, gearbox, differential) will be marked there under supervision including the spare parts. Also the weight of a car will be checked together with the noise level. All the operations regarding mounting the ONI System monitoring device take place at the same time. The cars not having the appropriate handler for this device, antennas, control elements and other equipment should claim for it in advance at the administrator and make it ready before the arrival to the first part of scrutineering. Second part of scrutineering takes place near the HQ at Na Karmeli. All crews should expose all the parts of clothing, which will be used, including the helmets and frontal head restraint system. At the same time the declaration form of Driver s Safety Equipment should be handed in available here. After both parts of scrutineering the crew should hand in the Homologation document on request Returning of ONI System tracking device At the end of the rally or after withdrawal from the rally, the tracking units have to be returned to the system provider at the Service Park. In case of retirement during the race the station of the device administrator is situated in the service park Final Checks Complete final check for assigned rally cars will be used by written notification from CoC immediately after finish of the rally. For each car at the final scrutineering a representative of the team, a maximum of two mechanics and possibly one driver must be present. 12 14 SHAKEDOWN 14.1 Location Start in Březina village, finish in Dneboh village, length 2.82 km. Distance from the service park start 2.01 km, finish 4.02 km Time Schedule Friday 13 th July 2012, time 9: START OF THE RALLY The ceremonial start takes place on Friday 13 th July 2012 at 18:00. The start ramp will be located at the Old Town s Square in Mladá Boleslav. All crews with their cars and with overalls will attend to the ceremonial start according to starting order. The time applies for the preparation area in front of the start ramp. Cars will drive on the start ramp only on signal from marshals. The ceremonial start will be initiated by the country flag waving. 16 FINISH OF THE RALLY Cars will drive on the finish ramp on signal from marshals from the holding area. The winner s podium will be ready for the first three crews in total classification. Other prizes will be handed on the finish ramp. 17 SUPER SPECIAL STAGE AND PR ACTIVITES Super special stage takes place in Global Assistance Racing Arena Autodrome in Česká Lípa on Saturday 14 th July 2012 at 17:30. Special stage will be held as parallel. Two crews will start simultaneously, each has marked track, which they will swap between each other thanks to the bridge in the middle of it. Crews will start in reverse order. There will be an accompanying programme on the Autodrome before the start. VIP invitations for sale are ready for crews, which want to invite their sponsors and other guests. Complete support is provided such as car park situated close to Autodrome, issue of the Rally Programme with Entry List, roofed dedans and refreshment during super special stage. 12 RALLY GUIDE

13 18 MEDIA Contact before the Rally Accreditation Procedure Applications for accreditations shall be submitted via information system available at (hereinafter referred to as IS). Access in the IS can be attained by a journalist based on a filled-in accreditation form available in PDF-file at the pages of the FAS ACR or online on the aforesaid internet address. This form can be filled in by the applicant just once and after that the applicant will sign up for the respective events using the IS. The accreditation form must be sent again only in case of a change of some data (editors changes etc.). The form must be signed both by the applicant and by the editor in chief or their deputy. The use of mobile phone or other communication means is prohibited while driving. The driver cannot before and during the drive take any alcohol or other narcotics. There is a zero tolerance of the volume in driver s body in the Czech Republic. Always give the way to pedestrians on the crosswalk. There are following speed limits: o In the urban area 50 km/h o Outside the urban area 90 km/h o Motorways and highways 130 km/h. When driving on motorways and highways the car has to be equipped with vignette. This is valid also for competition cars. We advise that competing crew will use these roads during rally.
