6 3 Preprtion If the totl refrigernt chrge in the system is 1.84 kg (i.e. if the piping length is 7 m), you need to comply with the minimum floor re requirements s descried in the following flow chrt. 7 4 Instlltion 3. Prepring wter piping In cse of plstic pipes, mke sure they re fully oxygen diffusion tight ccording to DIN 476. The diffusion of oxygen into the piping cn led to excessive corrosion. Vlve towrds expnsion vessel. The vlve towrds the expnsion vessel (if equipped) MUST e open To check the wter volume nd flow rte Minimum wter volume There re no requirements for the minimum wter volume. Minimum flow rte Check tht the minimum flow rte in the instlltion is gurnteed in ll conditions. This minimum flow rte is required during defrost/ ckup heter opertion. For this purpose, use the overpressure ypss vlve delivered with the unit. When circultion in ech or certin spce heting loops is controlled y remotely controlled vlves, it is importnt tht the minimum flow rte is gurnteed, even if ll vlves re closed. In cse the minimum flow rte cnnot e reched, flow error 7H will e generted (no heting or opertion). See the instller reference guide for more informtion. To connect the drin hose to the drin" on pge 9 When you need ccess to the high voltge switch ox To lower the switch ox on the indoor unit During the instlltion, you will need ccess to the inside of the indoor unit. To hve esier front ccess, put the switch ox lower on the unit s follows: Prerequisite: The user interfce pnel nd front pnel hve een removed. 1 Remove the top pnel tht keeps the switch ox into plce t the top of the unit. Tilt the switch ox to the front nd lift it out of its hinges. T5 T To open the switch ox cover of the indoor unit 3 Plce the switch ox lower on the unit. 9 4 Instlltion 4. Mounting the indoor unit Option 1: Through the left side pnel 4..1 To instll the indoor unit 1 Lift the indoor unit from the pllet nd plce it on the floor. Also see ".1. To hndle the indoor unit" on pge 5. Connect the drin hose to the drin. See "4.. To connect the drin hose to the drin" on pge 9. 3 Slide the indoor unit into position. 4 Adjust the height of the leveling feet to compenste for floor irregulrities. The mximum llowed devition is T5 3 Do NOT tilt the unit forwrds: Option : Through the right side pnel 1 3 T To connect the drin hose to the drin Wter coming from the pressure relief vlve is collected in the drin pn. The drin pn is connected to drin hose inside the unit. You must connect the drin hose to n pproprite drin ccording to the pplicle legisltion. You cn route the drin hose through the left or right side pnel. Prerequisite: The user interfce pnel nd front pnel hve een removed. 1 Remove one of the side pnels. Cut out the ruer grommet. 3 Pull the drin hose through the hole. 4 Rettch the side pnel. Ensure the wter cn flow through the drin tue. It is recommended to use tundish to collect the wter. 4.3 Connecting the refrigernt piping See the outdoor unit instlltion mnul for ll guidelines, specifictions nd instlltion instructions To connect the refrigernt piping to the indoor unit 1 Connect the liquid stop vlve from the outdoor unit to the refrigernt liquid connection of the indoor unit. Refrigernt liquid connection Refrigernt gs connection Connect the gs stop vlve from the outdoor unit to the refrigernt gs connection of the indoor unit. 9

10 4 Instlltion When the indoor unit is instlled in plce with limited spce, n optionl pipe end (EKHVTC) kit cn e instlled to fcilitte the connection to the refrigernt gs nd liquid connections of the indoor unit. For instlltion instructions, see the instruction sheet of the pipe end kit. 4.4 Connecting the wter piping To connect the wter piping Do NOT use excessive force when connecting the piping. Deformtion of the piping cn cuse mlfunctioning of the unit. To fcilitte service nd mintennce, shut-off vlves nd 1 overpressure ypss vlve re provided. Mount the shut-off vlves on the spce heting wter inlet nd spce heting wter outlet. To ensure the minimum flow rte (nd prevent overpressure), instll the overpressure ypss vlve on the spce heting wter outlet. 1 Instll the shut-off vlves on the spce heting wter pipes. Screw the indoor unit nuts on the shut-off vlve. 3 Connect the domestic hot wter in nd out pipes to the indoor unit. c d A pressure relief vlve (field supply) with n opening pressure of mximum 10 r (= 1 MP) must e instlled on the domestic cold wter inlet connection in ccordnce with the pplicle legisltion To connect the recircultion piping Prerequisite: Only required if you need recircultion in your system. 1 Remove the top pnel from the unit, see "4.1.1 To open the indoor unit" on pge 7. Cut out the ruer grommet on top of the unit, nd remove the stop. The recircultion connector is plced elow the hole. 3 Route the recircultion piping through the grommet nd connect it to the recircultion connector. 4 Rettch the top pnel To fill the wter circuit To fill the wter circuit, use field supply filling kit. Mke sure you comply with the pplicle legisltion. Mke sure oth ir purge vlves (one on the mgnetic filter nd one on the ckup heter) re open To fill the domestic hot wter tnk c d Spce heting/cooling wter out Spce heting/cooling wter in Domestic hot wter out Domestic cold wter in (cold wter supply) It is recommended to instll shut-off vlves to domestic cold wter in nd domestic hot wter out connections. These shut-off vlves re field supplied. Overpressure ypss vlve (delivered s ccessory). We recommend to instll the overpressure ypss vlve in the spce heting wter circuit. Mind the minimum flow rte when djusting the overpressure ypss vlve setting. See "3..1 To check the wter volume nd flow rte" on pge 7 nd "6..1 To check the minimum flow rte" on pge. Instll ir purge vlves t ll locl high points. 1 Open every hot wter tp in turn to purge ir from the system pipe work. Open the cold wter supply vlve. 3 Close ll wter tps fter ll ir is purged. 4 Check for wter leks. 5 Mnully operte the field-instlled pressure relief vlve to ensure free wter flow through the dischrge pipe To insulte the wter piping The piping in the complete wter circuit MUST e insulted to prevent condenstion during cooling opertion nd reduction of the heting nd cooling cpcity. If the temperture is higher thn 30 C nd the humidity is higher thn RH 80%, the thickness of the insultion mterils should e t lest 0 mm to prevent condenstion on the surfce of the insultion. 4.5 Connecting the electricl wiring DANGER: RISK OF ELECTROCUTION WARNING ALWAYS use multicore cle for power supply cles. 10

When closing the indoor unit cover, mke sure tht the tightening torque does NOT exceed 4.1 N m. 5 Configurtion 5.1 Overview: Configurtion This chpter descries wht you hve to do nd know to configure the system fter it is instlled. The explntion out the configurtion in this chpter gives you ONLY sic explntions. For more detiled explntion nd ckground informtion, see the instller reference guide. X1M XM 9 10 X5M Fix the cle with cle ties to the cle tie mountings. Mke sure to select nd instll the sfety thermostt ccording to the pplicle legisltion. In ny cse, to prevent unnecessry tripping of the sfety thermostt, we recommend the following: The sfety thermostt is utomticlly resettle. The sfety thermostt hs mximum temperture vrition rte of C/min. There is minimum distnce of m etween the sfety thermostt nd the 3 wy vlve. ALWAYS configure the sfety thermostt fter its instlltion. Without configurtion, the indoor unit will ignore the sfety thermostt contct. The preferentil kwh rte power supply contct is connected to the sme terminls (X5M/9+10) s the sfety thermostt. It is only possile for the system to hve EITHER preferentil kwh rte power supply OR sfety thermostt. Why If you do NOT configure the system correctly, it might NOT work s expected. The configurtion influences the following: The clcultions of the softwre Wht you cn see on nd do with the user interfce How You cn configure the system vi the user interfce. First time Configurtion wizrd. When you turn ON the user interfce for the first time (vi the indoor unit), the configurtion wizrd strts to help you configure the system. Restrt the configurtion wizrd. If the system is lredy configured, you cn restrt the configurtion wizrd. To restrt the configurtion wizrd, go to Instller settings > Configurtion wizrd. To ccess Instller settings, see "5.1.1 To ccess the most used commnds" on pge 16. Afterwrds. If necessry, you cn mke chnges to the configurtion in the menu structure or the overview settings. When the configurtion wizrd is finished, the user interfce will show n overview screen nd request to confirm. When confirmed, the system will restrt nd the home screen will e displyed.
