A učit mě proto moc baví. Přeji všem studentům, aby jejich plány a sny vyšly tak jako mně ve fantastické práci a úžasné rodině. I admire the young generation today. They are full of courage, plans for the future, dreams and love for life. I love teaching, and I wish that all our students fulfill their dreams, so that their plans turn out like mine, having a fantastic job and an amazing family. PhDr. Jiří Eibel ekonomika a anglický program Economics and the English Programme Mým cílem je přesvědčit studenty, že musí být v něčem lepší než ostatní, musí v něčem vynikat, potom budou mít šanci na úspěch. My goal is to convince students that they must be better than others in something, to have something to excel in, then they will have a chance to succeed. Mgr. Lilit Tomková anglický jazyk, ekonomické předměty v AJ English, economic subjects in English Simplicity is Bliss!: Lead, Care, Inspire. Mgr. I started teaching English at the second branch of our school, the Business Institute, when I was a college student. I later added teaching at the distance learning programme. Now, apart from English language, I teach subjects on the English Pearson program at OA Prague. Being a teacher was a natural and logical choice for me, which I have never regretted, and I enjoy my profession. Education means more than just passing on information. Diane Freeman konverzace v AJ - rodilá mluvčí, třídní anglického programu (National Diploma) conversation in English, native speaker, form teacher of National Diploma After working for many years in banking, it wasn t until I moved to the Czech Republic from London, that I became involved in education. For me personally, it was the start of a deep love of teaching which has never left me. From the past until the present I feel incredibly privileged to be a part of my students educational lives, and they never cease to inspire me to be a better teacher. Be the change you wish to see in the world. Mahátma Gandhi. Ing. Lenka Krausová anglický jazyk, manažerské účetnictví v AJ, marketing, management English, Managerial Accounting in English, Marketing, Management Být učitelem nikdy nebyl můj cíl. Being a teacher has never been my goal. I wanted to be an interior designer, a garden architect, a painter, a fashion designer... And, behold, never say never, fate has taken me into the field of pedagogy, and I found out that I wasn t so far from my original intentions Everything was about creativity, and the work of a teacher is the same. Working with young people is very creative work, we are helping to shape their personalities, we take part in their education and besides that, this work enriches us as well. I admire their fantasy, imagination and energy. Their worries are so far away from us adults. They have a lot of plans, and I have no doubt they will achieve them. prof. PhDr. Ivan Bareš, CSc. anglický jazyk, ekonomické předměty v AJ English, economic subjects in English Bez práce by můj život ztrácel smysl. Introduction to Marketing Underpinning all marketing activity is marketing information and learners will be introduced to the role of research in making good marketing decisions. Fashion merchandise is available in all price ranges, catering for all consumers from the budget conscious shopper to those customers who can afford the most expensive designer clothes. This is an exciting and vibrant part of the retail sector and provides ample scope for interesting study. Although the unit concentrates on the retailing of fashion items, it will also allow learners to develop an understanding of the history and role of fashion in society and how the fashion industry itself works. Learners will learn to recognise fashion trends and the way these trends impact not only on the products available in shops but also on the services retailers offer. Learners will understand the importance of retail image and ensuring that a retailer s image is consistent with its product range and intended market. The learning outcomes and unit content are designed to enable learners to understand how consumer needs are satisfied through fashion retailing, primarily at shop and store level. Learners will learn how market segmentation is of particular importance in successful fashion retailing. The unit will also enable learners to explore factors that influence trends and consumer tastes. Internet Marketing in Business The aim of this unit is to enable learners to develop an understanding of the fundamental concepts that underpin the reasons business is conducted online with reference not only to the benefits and drawbacks to businesses and customers but also the effects on society at large. In this unit learners will be introduced to the main areas of marketing that have been affected by the internet. They will look at how the promotional aspects have been transformed, how product development has been speeded up and even how new products have resulted from the existence of the internet itself. They will also learn how information can be used to enable a better match between the customer and the product. Understanding Retailing The aim of this unit is to introduce learners to the important role that retailing plays in the economy; and how it is the final part of the supply chain, before products and services reach the end customer. Learners will examine the structure of the retail industry, the process of distribution, the importance of sales and service functions and how the sector responds to change. Business Resources The aim of this unit is to develop learner knowledge of the range of human, physical, technological and financial resources required in an organisation, and how the management of these resources can impact on business performance. The unit aims to develop knowledge and understanding of the financial statements and it underpins other financial units in the qualification. This part of the unit focuses on the interpretation and analysis of financial documents in order to highlight the need for the monitoring and control of costs and budgets. It is important that learners appreciate that poor management of resources can have a negative impact on an organisation s performance.
