1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Never use the parts of the refrigerator such as kick plate or door as a means of support or step. Do not damage the parts, where the refrigerant is circulating, with drilling or cutting tools. The refrigerant that might blow out when the gas channels of the evaporator, pipe extensions or surface coatings of the product are punctured may cause skin irritations and eye injuries. In case of any failure or during a maintenance or repair work, disconnect your refrigerator s mains supply by either turning off the relevant fuse or unplugging your appliance. Be careful not to pull by the cable when pulling the plug out. DO NOT PLUG IN your appliance before removing all packaging materials and protective transport elements. To prevent horizontal handling and in order to ensure complete distribution of the condenser oil, keep the appliance in upright position for 4 hours before operating. Make sure that the plug is easily accessible. Do not use multi sockets or extension cables. Do not allow blocking of ventilation openings in the product casing or in the built-in structure. Before plugging in the product, make sure that the voltage and frequency values printed on the product rating plate in your appliance conform to the values of the supply power in your house. This rating plate is on the inner left wall of the refrigerator. Dow 20 G R RA We recommend plugging in this product to a socket which is properly switched and fused. The plug of the appliance should be located as to be easily accessible. Warning! The product must always be plugged into a grounded socket. If the molded plug at the end of the power cable of the product does not match with the socket, the plug must be cut and replaced by a suitable one. Dispose of the plug you have cut since a plug with naked cable can cause electric shock when plugged in another socket in the house. Important! As the colors of the wires in the power cable of the appliance might not match with the colour codes defining the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: 1. Attach the green-yellow or yellow colored wire (ground) to the terminal in the plug which is marked with E, bearing this symbol or is in green and yellow, or only green color. 2. Attach the blue (Neutral) wire to the terminal in the plug which is marked with N or is in black color. 3. Attach the brown (Phase) wire to the terminal in the plug which is marked with L or is in red color. In alternative plugs, a 13-Ampere fuse must be attached to the plug or the adaptor in the mains plug box.

7. OPERATING PRINCIPALS Cooling Cycle (D70430N, D70460N, D70465N, D70500N) Cooling Algorithm Cooling is performed with compressor and fans. Freezer compartment fan runs together with the compressor. Cooling compartment fan and compressor is activated or deactivated according to the FF air sensor. Minimum stop time of the compressor is 6 minutes. w If it is under the operating rate of 30%, then the heater and fan is activated during stoppages. Heater stops when the compressor is activated. FF fan operates depending on the conditions. Forced Defrost In order to cut-in during every stoppage period, it waits for the ff air sensor to reach the cut-in value and for the ff eva sensor to reach +3 C. Cut-out is performed depending on the the FF sensor. If the compressor runs continuously for 240 minutes, frz sensor will stop until the cut-in value (+3 C). Fan is activated during stoppage. Low Ambient If the compressor does not operate for 130 minutes, it will be activated for 15 minutes. (Low Ambient) R First operation/power failure If the defrost sensor temperature is at or above 5 C when the refrigerator is energized, this is called first operation. If this temperature is lower than 5 C it is called "power failure". If it is a power failure after the production test, compressor will be activated after the stoppage time of 6 minutes when necessary. If it is first operation, compressor will be activated immediately.
FRZ/FF Temperature Setting Temperature setting is made by the potentiometer on the cart in FF. Refrigerator is not equipped with an Off position. Parameter List Set Cut-out (FF sensor) Cut-in (FF sensor) Pot angle ( ) 1 7 C 6.3 C C 5.3 C C 4.3 C C 3.3 C C 2.4 C 0-50 Defrost Algorithm RA Defrost is performed by a heater in order to avoid the decrease in refrigerator's cooling performance due to the snow and ice accumulating on the evaporator. Melting is performed on basis of real time. Defrost is performed after 25 hours of real time. Defrost does not exceed a certain period in order to preserve the food and protect the refrigerator during defrost (60 minutes). Defrost is aborted after 60 minutes or when the defrost sensor temperature reaches +10 C. If the doors of the refrigerator are not opened for 14 hours, then the defrost time deferred by 50 hours in real time. This is called door closed defrost. Defrost is performed for 5 minutes depending on the time. Refrigerator returns to normal operation when doors are opened. If the 25 hours of real time defrost period is over when the refrigerator door is opened, then the defrost starts 1 hour after closing the door. If the 25 hours of real time defrost period is not over when the doors are opened, refrigerator waits for 25 hours of real time to elapse in order to start the defrost. Precool will not be performed. A certain amount of time is allowed for the water droplets that occur on the evaporator to fall down (water drainage) (5 minutes). Then the compressor is activated. Defrost After Power Failure or During First Operation Compressor run time is recalled after a power failure. Parameter List Real time that should elapse for defrost Water drain time Defrost sensor temperature to abort defrost Max. defrost time 25 hours 5 min +10 C 60 min
Opening of the door When the user opens either of the doors, the inner illumination of the relevant door turns on (only valid for FF compartment), the fan stops, and the audio "door open" alarm is heard after a certain period of time (60 seconds). This alarm warns the user that he/she has kept the door open longer than required. This is an audio alarm. Warning ceases when the door is closed. Otherwise, audio warning continues. Operation after power failure After a power failure, the door starts to operate as if it is newly opened. Parameter List G RA Audio warning start time after the door is 60 opened (sec) Door open alarm buzzer ON time (msec) 500 Door open alarm buzzer OFF time (msec) 500 FF heater Activated when the FF air sensor is 0 C, deactivated when it is 1 C. FF Fan / 7 Fan will operate continuously during normal operation. However, the fan will stop (for 15 min) in low ambient operating mode, and then will start again. If the doors are not opened for 14 hours, FF fan only operates when the compressor is activated and stops when the compressor is deactivated until the door is opened again. If the low ambient algorithm is activated during the period of 14 hours in which the doors are not opened, it will operate as in the low algorithm. FF stops while the compressor runs for 15 minutes ; fan operates in other times. During first operation, FF fan starts 10 minutes after the compressor is activated.
Operation after power failure FF fan operates as in the normal mode after a power failure. Tests Run Time Test (Sensor error) If the Power is ON in a sensor error, none of the components are driven for 15 min. If air sensor error exists If air sensor error does not exist If eva sensor error exists Compressor operates for 20 min and stops for 40 min. Cut-out / cut-in are performed depending on the set value of air sensor. If eva sensor error does not exist Cut-in and cut-out are performed on basis of the FF eva sensor. Cut-in: +5 C and Cut-out -20 C. OK Heater remains active for 20 min in a defrost sensor failure..
