To connect the wter piping Do NOT use excessive force when connecting the piping. Deformtion of the piping cn cuse mlfunctioning of the unit. Mke sure tht the tightening torque does NOT exceed 30 N m. To fcilitte service nd mintennce, shut-off vlves re provided. Mount the vlves on the spce heting wter inlet nd spce heting wter outlet. Mind their position: the integrted drin vlves will only drin the side of the circuit on which they re locted. To e le to only drin the unit, mke sure the drin vlves re positioned etween the shut off vlves nd the unit. To protect the wter circuit ginst freezing Frost cn dmge the system. To prevent the hydrulic components from freezing, the softwre is equipped with specil frost protection functions, tht include the ctivtion of pump, internl heters, nd/ or ckup heter opertion in cse of low tempertures. However, in cse of power filure, these functions cnnot gurntee protection. It is therefore recommended to dd glycol to the wter circuit. The required concentrtion depends on the lowest expected outdoor temperture, nd on whether you wnt to protect the system from ursting or from freezing. To prevent the system from freezing, more glycol is required. Add glycol ccording to the tle elow. Protection ginst ursting: the glycol will prevent the piping from ursting, ut NOT the liquid inside the piping from freezing. 4 Instlltion The required concentrtion might differ depending on the type of glycol. ALWAYS compre the requirements from the tle ove with the specifictions provided y the glycol mnufcturer. If necessry, meet the requirements set y the glycol mnufcturer. The dded concentrtion of glycol should NEVER exceed 35%. If the liquid in the system is frozen, the pump will NOT e le to strt. Mind tht if you only prevent the system from ursting, the liquid inside might still freeze. In cse of power supply filure or pump filure, nd NO glycol ws dded to the system, drin the system. When wter is t stndstill inside the system, the system is very likely to freeze nd get dmged. The types of glycol tht cn e used depend on whether the system contins domestic hot wter tnk: If The system contins domestic hot wter tnk The system does NOT contin domestic hot wter tnk () WARNING Then Only use propylene glycol () You cn use either propylene glycol () or ethylene glycol Propylene glycol, including the necessry inhiitors, clssified s Ctegory III ccording to EN77. Ethylene glycol is toxic. WARNING Due to presence of glycol, corrosion of the system is possile. Uninhiited glycol will turn cidic under the influence of oxygen. This process is ccelerted y the presence of copper nd high tempertures. The cidic uninhiited glycol ttcks metl surfces nd forms glvnic corrosion cells tht cuse severe dmge to the system. Therefore it is importnt tht: the wter tretment is correctly executed y qulified wter specilist, glycol with corrosion inhiitors is selected to counterct cids formed y the oxidtion of glycols, no utomotive glycol is used ecuse their corrosion inhiitors hve limited lifetime nd contin silictes which cn foul or plug the system, glvnized pipes re NOT used in glycol systems since the presence my led to the precipittion of certin components in the glycol's corrosion inhiitor. Adding glycol to the wter circuit reduces the mximum llowed wter volume of the system. For more informtion, refer to the chpter "To check the wter volume nd flow rte" in the instller reference guide. 4.3.3 To fill the wter circuit Connect the wter supply hose to the drin nd fill vlve. Glycol sors wter from its environment. Therefore do NOT dd glycol tht hs een exposed to ir. Leving the cp off the glycol continer cuses the concentrtion of wter to increse. The glycol concentrtion is then lower thn ssumed. As result, the hydrulic components might freeze up fter ll. Tke preventive ctions to ensure miniml exposure of the glycol to ir. If overpressure occurs, the system will relese some of the liquid through the pressure relief vlve. If glycol ws dded to the system, tke dequte mesures so s to sfely recover it. In ny cse, mke sure tht the flexile hose of the pressure relief vlve is ALWAYS free to relese pressure. Prevent wter from stying nd/or freezing up inside the hose. Open the drin nd fill vlve. 3 If n utomtic ir purge vlve ws instlled, mke sure it is open. 4 Fill the circuit with wter until the mnometer (field supply) indictes pressure of ±.0 r. 5 Purge s much ir s possile from the wter circuit. For instructions, see "6 Commissioning" on pge 0. 6 Refill the circuit until the pressure is ±.0 r. 7 Repet steps 5 nd 6 until no more ir is purged nd there re no more pressure drops. 8 Close the drin nd fill vlve. 9 Disconnect the wter supply hose from the drin nd fill vlve. 4.3.4 To insulte the wter piping The piping in the complete wter circuit MUST e insulted to prevent condenstion during cooling opertion nd reduction of the heting nd cooling cpcity. To prevent the freezing of the outdoor wter piping during winter time, the thickness of the seling mteril MUST e t lest 3 mm (with λ=0.039 W/mK). EBLQ+EDLQ0~06CA3V3+W 4P537990-08.05 9
4 Instlltion If the temperture is higher thn 30 C nd the humidity is higher thn RH 80%, the thickness of the insultion mterils should e t lest 0 mm to prevent condenstion on the surfce of the insultion.
