PRAGUE is called Hundred-towered Prague or Golden Prague or The Mother of Cities is situated on the river Vltava
FAMOUS CULTURAL ATTRACTIONS PRAGUE CASTLE it was the residence of the Czech kings and since 1918 it has become the residence of our presidents
GOTHIC VLADISLAV HALL a large room within the Prague Castle Built in the 15th century during the reign of Vladislav II in past it was used for banquets, receptions, coronations nowadays it is used for large public events
SAINT VITUS CATHEDRAL a gothic cathedral built in the 14th century the tombs of the Czech kings are located and the Czech crown jewels are deposited there
CHARLES BRIDGE a stone bridge connecting the Old Town to the Lesser Town (Mala Strana). was built in 1357 during the reign of King Charles IV. a unique set of 31 sculptures made by Matyáš Brown and Jan Brokoff was added from the 17 th to the 20 th centuries. in summer it is full of tourists, souvenir stalls and street artists.
OLD TOWN SQUARE in the middle there is the Jan Hus Memorial the Old Town Hall with the astronomical clock was built in the 14 th century
WENCESLASS SQUARE is the longest square in the country (750 m) a lot of shops, restaurants, banks and exchange offices there is the statue of the Czech prince Saint Weceslas and the National Museum
CHARLES UNIVERSITY was founded in 1348, it was the first university in Central Europe the Carolinum is the oldest building of Charles University.
VYŠEHRAD originally it was the castle of the Přemyslid dynasty in the 11 and 12 century nowadays we can visit the National Cemetary here with the graves of famous personalities of culture, science and politics
ECONOMY Prague's economy accounts for 25% of the Czech Republic's GDP Industry: pharmaceutical, printing, food processing, manufacture of transport equipment, computer technology and electrical engineering, tourism in services sector, most significant are financial services, commercial services, trade, restaurants and accommodations and public administration
