Anchor points M (mm) Pedestl When instlling on pedestl, mke sure tht the dischrge grille still cn e put in its sfety position. 9 4 Piping instlltion To fill the wter circuit See the instlltion mnul of the indoor unit, or the instller reference guide To protect the wter circuit ginst freezing Aout freeze protection Frost cn dmge the system. To prevent the hydrulic components from freezing, the softwre is equipped with specil frost protection functions such s wter pipe freeze prevention nd drin prevention (see the instller reference guide) tht include the ctivtion of pump in cse of low tempertures. However, in cse of power filure, these functions cnnot gurntee protection. Do one of the following to protect the wter circuit ginst freezing: Add glycol to the wter. Glycol lowers the freezing point of the wter. Instll freeze protection vlves. Freeze protection vlves drin the wter from the system efore it cn freeze. If you dd glycol to the wter, do NOT instll freeze protection vlves. Possile consequence: Glycol leking out of the freeze protection vlves. Freeze protection y glycol Aout freeze protection y glycol Adding glycol to the wter lowers the freezing point of wter. WARNING Ethylene glycol is toxic. WARNING Due to the presence of glycol, corrosion of the system is possile. Uninhiited glycol will turn cidic under the influence of oxygen. This process is ccelerted y the presence of copper nd high tempertures. The cidic uninhiited glycol ttcks metl surfces nd forms glvnic corrosion cells tht cuse severe dmge to the system. Therefore it is importnt tht: the wter tretment is correctly executed y qulified wter specilist, glycol with corrosion inhiitors is selected to counterct cids formed y the oxidtion of glycols, no utomotive glycol is used ecuse their corrosion inhiitors hve limited lifetime nd contin silictes which cn foul or plug the system, glvnized pipes re NOT used in glycol systems since the presence my led to the precipittion of certin components in the glycol's corrosion inhiitor. Glycol sors wter from its environment. Therefore do NOT dd glycol tht hs een exposed to ir. Leving the cp off the glycol continer cuses the concentrtion of wter to increse. The glycol concentrtion is then lower thn ssumed. As result, the hydrulic components might freeze up fter ll. Tke preventive ctions to ensure miniml exposure of the glycol to ir. Types of glycol The types of glycol tht cn e used depend on whether the system contins domestic hot wter tnk: If The system contins domestic hot wter tnk The system does NOT contin domestic hot wter tnk Then Only use propylene glycol () You cn use either propylene glycol () or ethylene glycol () Propylene glycol, including the necessry inhiitors, clssified s Ctegory III ccording to EN1717. Required concentrtion of glycol The required concentrtion of glycol depends on the lowest expected outdoor temperture, nd on whether you wnt to protect the system from ursting or from freezing. To prevent the system from freezing, more glycol is required. Add glycol ccording to the tle elow. Protection ginst freezing: the glycol will prevent the liquid inside the piping from freezing. The required concentrtion might differ depending on the type of glycol. ALWAYS compre the requirements from the tle ove with the specifictions provided y the glycol mnufcturer. If necessry, meet the requirements set y the glycol mnufcturer. The dded concentrtion of glycol should NEVER exceed 35%. If the liquid in the system is frozen, the pump will NOT e le to strt. Mind tht if you only prevent the system from ursting, the liquid inside might still freeze. When wter is t stndstill inside the system, the system is very likely to freeze nd get dmged. Glycol nd the mximum llowed wter volume Adding glycol to the wter circuit reduces the mximum llowed wter volume of the system. For more informtion, see the instller reference guide (topic "To check the wter volume nd flow rte"). Glycol setting If glycol is present in the system, setting [E-0D] must e set to 1. If the glycol setting is NOT set correctly, the liquid inside the piping cn freeze.
